Typologie German Foundries

"Typologie German Foundries" out now — featuring Fincker Font Cuisine’s Royalis and Grantig!

After the success of the editions dedicated to French, Swiss, and British type design, the Typologie collection expands with a fourth volume: Typologie Green. This edition celebrates the German typographic scene, featuring an exclusive selection of 100 typefaces from 50 foundries — setting a new record for the series.

Designed by the Paris-based studio Recto Verso, Typologie Green serves as a reference tool for professionals in graphic design, typography, and publishing. Presented as a graphic swatch book, it offers an in-depth exploration of contemporary type design practices in Germany, a country renowned for both its typographic heritage and creative vitality.

Each selected typeface is showcased across a dedicated double spread, detailing its features, use cases, and visual intent. The typefaces are organized into six categories — serif, sans serif, display, monospace, script, and expressive — to make browsing intuitive and enable clear visual comparisons.

I am very excited to be part of this project with Royalis and Grantig, next to so many much more talented colleagues and friends. Thank you very much Pierre-Yann Lallaizon, Axelle Baudlot and the Studio Recto Verso for realising this great project.
